Lily Camera Drone Product Delay and New Private Funding

San Francisco based company, Lily, has raised $15 million towards their new product that was originally due to release in February, but has now been postponed until summer 2016.

We're sure that you have heard of the Lily drone due to come out next year. With a promo video like this, who wouldn't want one?!

Lily has been encountering problems with the flight software that powers the drone. The company has been testing their first batch of 200 birds under harsh conditions, and are adamant about reserving their funds accumulated from preorders until the Lily Camera goes into final production.

We have no plans to use a single cent of that money until your Lily Camera goes into final production. We’ve hit some challenges there, but rest assured, it’s nothing our team can’t handle, we just need more time.
— Lily’s founders, Antoine Balaresque and Henry Bradlow

It has been exciting to watch the development in technology over the past year, and we are curious about the performance of this particular drone and it's capabilities! Considering this drone is waterproof, has high-resolution camera quality, and ability to autonomously accomplish cinematic maneuvers, it's sure to be a hit. We look forward to the introduction of this fascinating machine!
